The current Municipal Waste Strategy 2003 aims to exceed recycling and composting rates in municipal waste of 35 per cent by 2010. Currently London recycles or composts 22 per cent of its municipal waste. While this performance is short of that target, some boroughs are already achieving 35-40 per cent recycling levels.

We are seeking to use the London Waste and Recycling Board, RecycleBank and are exploring other initiatives to best boost this rate.
