Question

In July you told me that 'TfL needs to agree funding for the East London Line extension to Clapham Junction within the next few months to ensure the scheme can open by December 2011.' Four months on, what are the chances of the line being completed before Network Rail divert the South London Line in December 2011?

The South Central franchise Invitation to Tender, issued by the DfT on 3 November, specifies that the date for the withdrawal of the South London line service is now planned in October 2012. I believe there is still a good chance of the Phase 2 extension being ready for service by this time.
