The transport improvements in Shepherd's Bush, which will benefit the whole community, were largely funded by Westfield at a cost of £170m. London Underground has renamed the Hammersmith & City line station opposite the street market 'Shepherd's Bush Market' to reflect the street market and the station was refurbished in 2006. Church Street market is closest to Edgware Road station on the Bakerloo line, and the market is well signposted from this station. This station is due for refurbishment by 2017 as part of the Metronet programme of station works. Both markets are also served by high frequency bus routes.
