Obstructions in the Thames Water main carrier drain at this location were reducing the capacity of the drainage system and resulting in flooding in the area. Thames Water carried out works on 8 August 2008 to clear all obstructions to the drainage system, which is now operating to full capacity. TfL has also carried out a full CCTV survey of the local drainage system that connects to the main Thames Water system and all blockages have been cleared. Recent periods of heavy rain since the works were carried out have led to no further flooding.
