Question

The previous Mayor made a habit of buying off the Greens for their vote in Budget meetings through small-scale agreements. Do you have intentions for anything similar or do you intend to provide a better service for London without the need to cajole other groups into voting for your plans?

Answer

Answer for Green budget agreement

Answer for Green budget agreement

One of the specific priorities in my budget guidance to the functional bodies and the GLA is to prioritise measures consistent with the commitment to carbon reduction targets of 60 per cent by 2025. Therefore I am confident that budget and business plans will take this into account and demonstrate my commitment to the environment without the need for any separate agreement with the Greens.
