Question

Will you call in, or at least defer a decision on, the 'Grainger plan' for the heart of Tottenham at Seven Sisters (passionately opposed by a very significant coalition of local residents and traders) until the alternative Community Plan submitted to the Council before the 'Grainger plan' has been allowed serious consideration?

Answer

Planning law requires that each planning application is determined on its own merits. As the 'Grainger' application was submitted under the old (i.e. pre-April 2008) planning powers, I am not able to take it over for my own determination, and am thus required to deal with it, in its submitted form, in the timescales that are set by Haringey Council.
