Given that 20mph zones have been established across London in response to community concerns and/or the numbers of road traffic accidents, will you support changes that will allow the MPS to police these zones across the capital?

I have set out some of the big ideas on improving transport in the capital in 'Way to Go!' which includes recognising the need for shared space between different users, careful design of public space and the need for all road users have to think responsibly about other road users. I support 20mph zones in areas where residents want them and their success relies upon both the physical features of the zone as well as enforcement. On enforcement I would expect the police to work closely with local authorities on the introduction and management of 20 mph zones.
