I discussed the need to continue the momentum on delivering Crossrail and the need for the Government to take responsibility for the gap in funding to deliver the Tube PPP programme. I also stressed to the Secretary of State the importance of the East London Line Extension Phase 2b for South London. I informed the Secretary of State that the majority of funding for the scheme could be found through savings and additions to the regulated asset base. This left a gap of some £31m, which I offered to split 50:50 with the Government. I have subsequently written to the Secretary of State confirming this offer and await his response.
