So far there has been a lot of interest in the Low Carbon Zones. I am as keen to make sure that these zones are as effective as is possible. The Zones should be areas that are committed to moving towards the 2025 60% CO2 reduction target. This requires extensive and focused engagement with boroughs, building professionals and utilities to make sure the programmes are in place and funding is committed to set us on the right trajectory. I am currently exploring how best to deliver LCZ's and lever in funding to ensure they have a high impact. We are meeting the external advisory group we've convened on this in the next few weeks. Once this work is completed I will provide further clarity on timescales but it is right that this work is done thoroughly to ensure we achieve the best result possible.
