Answer for Post Offices

The Mayor

As I have said in previous responses, I will continue with every enthusiasm to support the people of London who are campaigning against the closure of local post offices although the closure programme initiated by this Government is sadly now well underway. In terms of supporting the Post Office, Transport for London already has major contracts with Post Office Counters for the processing of the Zip photocard application forms. From next year, Post Offices will also process applications for the new half price Bus and Tram discount scheme, so the GLA is putting a great deal of business their way In terms of taking over the running of Post Offices, then I believe this is a local matter to be dealt with by the London boroughs.
