Question

The electronic clock on Platform 1 of Harrow and Wealdstone station has been displaying the wrong time for over two months. Will the Mayor ask Network Rail to fix it, or instruct TfL to replace it if they fail to?

There are two clocks on Platform 1 at Harrow and Wealdstone.

The one showing the incorrect time is very old and Network Rail, who as station landlord own the clock, have advised LU that they do not believe it can be repaired. This is because the technology is obsolete and it is unlikely that the required spare parts will be available. The clock will shortly be removed from the platform for detailed examination to confirm this. As it is located close to the track, it can only be removed by securing access to the track through the controlled Network Rail process, to ensure safety, but LU expects this to happen within the next week.

LU will work with Network Rail to investigate the most cost effective option for any possible replacement. However, customers can in any event refer to the correct electronic clock which is part of the information screen on the same platform.
