The Community Toilet Scheme provides businesses with small grants to open up their toilet facilities to the public. This scheme is already running successfully in several boroughs. This is a common sense and cost effective solution to the lack of public toilets in London. It is also an ingenious way around the high costs normally associated with running them. Whether this is in addition to existing facilities or replacing them is really a matter for the boroughs but I want to work with them to ensure that overall provision in London increases rather than decreases.
