Question

In order to achieve your stated aim of delivering a significant sporting legacy from the 2012 Games, how are you responding to the concerns of the National Audit Office that the failure to finalise the legacy requirements for the venues and infrastructure on the Olympic Park could result in legacy objectives being compromised by the need to deliver the Games on time? By when will a clear legacy plan be available for each of the venues which will remain after 2012?

As legacy client the LDA has procured accountants and cost consultants to develop robust and sustainable business plans for all the legacy venues and Olympic Park. This work is consistently informing the ongoing engagement that the LDA has with ODA regarding venue design. This financial work is being conducted alongside the physical masterplanning process that will deliver a final legacy masterplan framework, including venue business plans, in the spring of 2009 prior to the submission of an outline planning application for the Olympic site by summer 2009.
