Question

Let us get on the record what it is the police are looking into and also let us get it on the record, if you would, what clause of the GLA employment codes of conduct and so forth required suspension, because there is no automatic need for suspension; that is another of your ruses that you have done.

When a key member of staff answering to the Assembly came under investigation by the police they were suspended immediately.

If it is your view that you do not mind Lee coming in to work I would be happy to live with that. But I suspect you would say that other Officers who have been investigated by the police ' though in the other case it was not at their request as it has been with Lee ' were suspended immediately. If you want to discuss this amongst yourselves later on and say you would rather Lee carried on coming in to work he would be delighted. We have only done it because of the precedent established with the paedophile ring.
