My prospectus for the London Thames Gateway, which was released by the Thames Gateway Forum, summarises how my policies, projects and strategies for London should shape the development of the London Thames Gateway. I remain fully committed to supporting the development of 100,000 new homes by 2016 and have demonstrated through the LDA-led low carbon development at Gallions Park my ambitions for design quality and sustainability to be at the core of the London Thames Gateway.

The decision to proceed with the construction of Crossrail, the arrival of the Eurostar services through Stratford International to St Pancras, and the regeneration brought about by the Olympics will massively boost both developer confidence and the transport capacity to build more homes and transform the Gateway. I do remain concerned that the current delivery and governance arrangements for London Thames Gateway are too complicated and I am discussing with ministers the scope for streamlining the current mechanisms so that they can operate within a simpler and more accountable framework.
