Question

Further to my Question 0511/2006 Accidents Involving Children, I welcome the actions which have taken place from your recommendations to roll out pilot projects across London to look into the issues as to why there are three times more black children being killed or seriously injured as pedestrians on London's streets regardless of economic background. Will TfL commit to funding a wider roll out of these projects to tackle the injury inequality amongst London's Black children?

In 2007/8 TfL funded six such projects with London boroughs, totaling £150k, from the Road Safety budget.

We expect to fund at least as many projects for 2008/09. It is our intention to continue to grow the programme to tackle this important issue.
