The Environment Committee's report on playing fields suggested that the GLA should take responsibility in developing a forum to encourage dialogue between the GLA, the Association of Local Government, Sport England, LOCOG, the ODA and other key stakeholders and private owners of playing fields in order to increase access. Have you been able to make any progress on this front since the publication of the report?

Following publication of the Environment Committee's report and discussion with yourself, the London Parks and Green Spaces Forum has been actively engaging with the London Federation of Sports and Athletics to participate more fully in the Forum's activities. The Forum comprises some of the key strategic stakeholders in open space provision and use in London and is the most appropriate organisation to encourage dialogue between the different constituencies of interest in open spaces.

The Federation has now nominated a representative to the Forum.

The Sport In London Group, chaired by the GLA, which brings together Sport England, Youth Sport Trust, London Councils, London Community Sport Network, National Governing Bodies of sport, London 2012, London Federation of Sport, Podium, representative of the sports industry, would welcome a specific discussion on access to private playing fields.
