Question

Can the Mayor confirm to my constituents that he will not act upon TfL's ludicrous plan to close off Junction 2 of the M1, from where traffic feeds down the Henlys Corner and the North Circular, during the morning rush hour?

Transport for London has no plans in place to alter access from the M1 to the North Circular.

Transport for London does regularly meet with the Highways Agency and Barnet Council about traffic and safety concerns. Large volumes of traffic leaving the M1 at peak times causes heavy congestion on the A406 North Circular Road and local roads during peak hours. Very early discussions are taking place to look at improved traffic management on the M1 to ease traffic congestion and improve safety on the North Circular and other local roads.
