London is the most international and open city in the world and the character of the city is vital in helping London maintain its global position. Reflecting and celebrating this diversity within the Olympic and Paralympic Games is vital. I am absolutely committed to ensuring that the Cultural Olympiad reaches and reflects all of London's communities. My office has already held stakeholder briefings at City Hall in partnership with LOCOG to ensure creative practitioners from BME backgrounds are fully engaged in the Cultural Olympiad and I will continue to prioritise access for BME communities throughout the process.
