Question

I think you could say exactly the same for the British Transport Police. What I am trying to get at here is why do you make it a decision that TfL will do it in a small number of cases and the Transport Police will do it for the vast majority? What is the distinction between the two?

Because the British Transport Police started doing this in 2002. They have the experience of having done 254 orders. We have had the power since last September to do them. We are proceeding with our first. Primarily this is a job you will tend, as a rule, to leave to the British Transport Police or the Metropolitan Police Service. It is good that we have it, we will use it occasionally, but we do not want to displace the British Transport Police who do the lead work on this.
