Within their Local Implementation Plans (LIPs), all London boroughs are required to provide a full local response to the Transport Strategy and the Walking Plan for London. LIPs are required to specifically address walking issues including personal safety and security, infrastructure improvements, completing the strategic walk network, local promotion, introduction of pedestrian signal phases and accessibility improvements.
