As I replied to Andrew Pelling previously, free travel for the under 16s is estimated to have reduced fares revenue by around £35 million per annum, and free bus travel for 16 and 17 year olds, by £20 million per annum. Free bus travel was introduced for under 16s 18 months ago, and for 16 to 17 year olds six months ago. This means the total cost up until February this year is about £60 million.
