Answer for Air Quality

It was estimated that in 2005 some 1000 deaths and a similar number of hospital admissions occurred in London due to poor air quality. Particulate matter (PM) and oxides of nitrogen (NOx) are two of the pollutants that are most harmful to human health and any reduction in emissions of these pollutants is therefore desirable.I have a statutory duty to work towards meeting United Kingdom Air Quality objectives and European Union limit values for PM10 and NO2. These objectives and limit values are set with regard to a number of factors, not just health considerations, and there are no safe levels of emissions for these pollutants.
