In the last 5 years there have been two instances of passenger emergency alarms being pulled on Underground trains that have led to prosecutions. One in 2001, and the other in 2003. It is almost impossible, except in extraordinary cases, to establish false pretences, especially as the driver's first priority is always to resolve the situation so that service can be resumed.
