TfL and the boroughs are committed to full public engagement on major projects and as such, public consultation on route options for Cross River Tram started in November 2006 and will continue until 30 January 2007. Experience demonstrates that early engagement and partnership working maximises the wider regeneration benefits of large scale transport investment programmes such as this.TfL have distributed route options consultation documents to residents and businesses within 1km of the route options. In addition, TfL has held 7 information events along the proposed route, each lasting 2 days. The road show events were located in key locations visited by high numbers of residents and likely CRT users. At 3 of the locations TfL used their mock tram to attract people to come and discuss proposals and ask questions at the exhibition staffed by TfL officers. The total cost of these events to date is £80,600
