Answer for Public Health

Answered By:
The Mayor

None of us should ever become complacent that members of the public receive and fully understand the best available information about health, the Government included. That said, individuals will continue to hold a wide range of beliefs about health ' some evidence-based, others not. Knowing what people believe about health and illness is an important part of being able to tailor information and support to achieve the best possible health outcomes. In London, DH colleagues have been happy to involve themselves in partnership work to find ever more effective ways to communicate health information to London's diverse communities. We will continue to work with health colleagues and community organisations on these issues, with a particular focus on gathering Londoners' views as preparatory work for the Health Inequalities Strategy picks up pace in the coming months.
