You stated on 17th May 2006 that you had instructed Tim O'Toole some months earlier to look at all landholdings at TfL to see if you could free up space so that Safer neighbourhood teams could be based in them. Can you confirm whether there are plans to base any further teams in underground or mainline stations in the first 6 months of 2007?

Further to my answer to 226/2006, TfL has been in a series of detailed discussions with the Metropolitan Police Service (MPS) and a number of potential sites have been investigated. Some were found to meet the MPS specification for accommodation of Safer Neighbourhood Teams (SNT for example part of the TfL premises at Turnpike Lane are currently being fitted out to be used by a SNT. TfL will continue working with the MPS on this issue. There are currently no other plans, to base any further teams in underground or mainline stations over the next 6 months. A number of transport locations have been identified for the roll out of Safer Transport Teams in February/March, this includes a number of bus garages.
