Question

One of your key areas in Towards the Mayor's Housing Strategy is building the right homes in the right places, i.e. delivering a mix of homes. How do you equate this with your refusal of Hammersmith & Fulham's plan for the Prestolite factory site, given that this ward already has an above average number of social rented homes?

Answer

Answer for Affordable Housing

According to 2001 Census the percentage of social housing in Askew Ward is 33.5% compared to LB Hammersmith and Fulham's borough average of 32.6%.I do not consider that this difference is significant nor warrants a waiver from my preferred London Plan requirement for a 70/30 tenure split between social and intermediate housing for the affordable housing element of new developments.
