The LDA does not report these outputs on a sub-regional basis. Prior to 2005, outputs were collected under the title 'Learning Opportunities' again reported without sub-division. The annual totals captured were as follows:

2001/02 Learning Opportunities 43,527 2002/03 Learning Opportunities 30,201 2003/04 Learning Opportunities 26,683 2004/05 Learning Opportunities 28,757

Skills outputs at Level 2 have only been recorded for the last 2 financial years (2005/6 and 2006/7).

2005-06 Level 2 Skills 3,797 Basic Skills 2,912 Other Skills 34,334 Total Skills 41,043

2006-07 mid point target figures

Level 2 Skills 3,728 Basic Skills 2,775 Other Skills 26,429 Total Skills 32,929

Note:The changes in total skills outputs year on year reflect a number of factors including changes in targets, and changes in definitions as follows

2002/03 - change in definition of learning opportunity, placing more stringent definitions on countable outputs 2005/06 - Move from Tier 3 definition to core definition, which is slightly less stringent
