The two roundabout junctions comply with current design standards, which take account of local traffic conditions, physical constraints and the operational and safety needs of all road users. The design of the new northern junction (near Smitham Station) will be monitored and reviewed to ensure that it is operating satisfactorily, as is the case for the entire scheme. If practical and affordable opportunities are identified that will improve the operational performance and safety of the junction, then these will be considered on their merits, and will be designed and implemented as appropriate.
