Question

The Metropolitan Police Service issued Practice Advice in September 2005 to provide "Guidance on Setting Up and Maintaining Neighbourhood Panels". It is noted in the guidance regarding "Who should be the members of a Neighbourhood Panel " that "These people could be identified through consultation activities carried out on the ward i.e. public meetings, 'have a say events' or questionnaires.

Please detail by ward which panels have undertaken such a)public meetings b)'have a say events' c)questionnaires in the London Borough of Croydon.

Aggregated data indicates that between April and December 2006, Croydon Safer Neighbourhoods teams conducted 322 pre-planned public meetings, 241 contact points & surgeries, 12 street briefings and 16 table-top exercises at a local level. I have been informed that more detailed performance data may be obtained on request to the MPA.
