Further to Peter Hendy's answer to my question 464/2006 on 6 December, on how many occasions since the Mayor's Transport Strategy came into effect have TfL decided not to install a bus shelter due to residential opposition, and what reasons were given for such opposition?

Data is available to show that during the current financial year, TfL has withdrawn plans to install shelters on two occasions in response to residents' concerns. In one case, the stop was right at the end of a route, and very lightly used, so the benefit to passengers would have been marginal. In the other, site constraints meant that passengers sitting in the shelter would have been looking directly into the resident's bedroom.
