Having consulted with health experts and eating disorder experts, including the eating disorder association, the British Fashion Council (BFC) has been advised that BMI in isolation cannot be used to judge an individual's health. The BFC state "Using this as the only parameter of health can be misleading. We believe that regulation is neither agreeable or advisable nor enforceable. What will make a difference is the commitment of the fashion industry to change attitudes through behaviour and education."
