I support the government target to halve the number of homeless households in temporary accommodation by 2010. Meeting this target will result in a substantial reduction in the number of homeless children in London, given that the overwhelming majority of those currently in temporary accommodation are London families with children. My Housing Strategy is at an early stage of development and any additional targets around homelessness over and above the government's national targets have yet to be determined.
