Question

Why are some buses being terminated early before going along Upper Street on Arsenal match days? How does this fit with the commitment given to local people that TfL would be able to cope with the large numbers of people travelling to and from the matches?

TfL has worked closely with a number of stakeholders, including Arsenal Football Club and the Police, to ensure that the best possible service can be provided on Arsenal match days. Inevitably on match days, general traffic in the immediate area of the ground is heavier than normal. When the crowd 'breaks' following a game, if late running occurs some buses may be turned short of their scheduled destination or held back to maintain reliability on the rest of the service. This is the same procedure adopted at all football grounds and for other events to ensure that a good service operates at all times.
