Question

Can Dial-a-Ride introduce a compensation system (rather than the present grace and favour system) where passengers are compensated if they have to get a minicab or use their taxicard when a Dial-a-Ride vehicle does not show up or is hopelessly late or an agreed booking cannot be fulfilled?

Dial-a-Ride is consulting on proposals for a Customer Charter, which it hopes to launch in spring 2007. Clarification also whether the service will offer refunds, including refunds for alternative transport provision in the case of service delay or cancellation, will be included in the Charter.
