In July a Transport for London officer kindly came with me to visit two junctions on the Old Kent Road: A) The junction with Ilderton Road where the green man phase is too short to allow parents and children from Pilgrims Way Primary School to cross safely. B) The junction with Peckham Park Road where drivers regularly ignore the no left turn rule endangering pedestrians, particularly blind and partially sighted pedestrians headed for the nearby Action for the Blind centre.

Although the Transport for London officer who visited has taken these items back to the relevant departments I have not had a full response about the action planned on either junction. Could you please update me?

TfL apologises that you have not been updated on progress since your site meeting. A) TfL has reviewed the pedestrian timings at the Ilderton Road junction with Old Kent Road and will be extending the green man timings. The software that will control the new timings is currently undergoing testing and will be implemented in early December.B) TfL proposes to install a camera at the junction of the Old Kent Road and Peckham Park Road to enforce the banned left turn ' this should significantly reduce the propensity for this illegal manoeuvre.
