Answer for LDA Land Around City Airport

The airport has a long lease on land now owned by the LDA. A further expansion of the airport may require the LDA to agree to lease additional land to the airport. Every proposal to lease land from the LDA is subject to careful consideration and corporate approval processes. If the airport wanted to increase the area of land it has leased from the LDA, the potential for further regeneration of the area together with any potential environmental impact would need to be considered. Furthermore, any expansion, which is likely in the run up to the Olympics, should not prejudice an overall review of the airport's role following the construction of Crossrail.
