Answer for Notting Hill Carnival

Answered By:
The Mayor

The Authority is represented on the Notting Hill Carnival Reference Group, which is chaired by the MPS and meets approximately every six weeks. The MPA, TfL, Royal Parks, London Notting Hill Carnival Ltd and the boroughs are represented on this Group. My Office was represented at the last meeting of the Reference Group. At the meeting, it was clear that discussions relating the route has stalled, mainly due to the intransigence of the boroughs. London Notting Hill Carnival Ltd have undertaken to produce a position paper, which will outline the carnival community's aspirations for Carnival 2007 and beyond. This paper will be presented at the next Reference Group meeting, which will take place on 01 November.
