Please detail the reasons for the delays in the IT project being run by Systems Associates which has now been cancelled? Please detail the exact details of the costs of the contract and any termination payments made?

System Associates were appointed to develop a Consultation and Research Database and an Agenda Management System. During development the solutions did not operate consistently and the users were not confident that the systems would be finalised in an acceptable state in the near future. Since the original decisions to develop these systems were made new IT projects have been commissioned. Two of these new systems (the new Library Management System and Content Management System for the GLA Web-site) will also incorporate the requirements for these now cancelled projects, this will have the benefits of reducing support costs and complexity as well as promoting the better use of corporate information.The contracted costs of the Consult system was £20,000 and AMS £14,625. Total payments made were £28,000. The remaining £6,625 would have been paid on successful acceptance of the systems. No termination payments were made.
