The ODA is committed to the highest standards of architectural and urban design for the Games and the legacy. Decisions on what approaches will be used to secure that quality of design will be made on a case-by-case basis. Competition - on quality and cost - will be an element of all procurement processes, to secure the best result for London. In some cases, this may mean a classic design competition; in others a different approach will be adopted to secure the same goals. The ODA has also established a Design Panel, with an independent Chair, to help the organisation to meet its aspirations in relation to design quality.
