My Housing SPG sets out guidance on the proportion of new homes to be provided as 2/3 bedroom units, and 4 bedroom or larger units. Guidance differentiates between market, intermediate and social housing provision. All strategic planning cases referred to me are assessed in relation to this guidance. All borough local development documents and area masterplans are also assessed in relation to this guidance. My proposal to revise the current London Plan density policy as set out in my published Further Alterations has the objective of achieving a better mix of housing output, including family sized homes. This is to meet the commitment given in my statement of intent. For the 2006/08 bidding round the London Housing Board set the Housing Corporation the target of ensuring that 35% of new affordable homes were 3 bedroomed or larger. I intend to use my new housing powers to ensure that the Housing Corporation's programme continues to deliver sufficient family housing. .
