Answer for Hybrid and Zero-Emission Buses

They aren't. London is at the leading edge of encouraging hybrid bus technology with a number of major manufacturers. The vehicles involved, in addition to incorporating hybrid technology, are being developed specifically to meet the operational needs of London. We anticipate these developments will result in city bus hybrid technology that leads the world.Fuel-cell buses are one zero-emission technology that TfL is actively encouraging. Not only is TfL involved in the largest fuel-cell bus trial in the world, but they have also recently signed a `memorandum of understanding' with five other cities and regions to work together on the procurement of hydrogen and fuel-cell buses in the future. TfL is also currently tendering for 10 hydrogen-powered buses, to be introduced in 2008/09
