Oyster use on the buses now accounts for around 12% of all bus trips, compared with just over 2% a year ago, while on-bus cash use has halved around 5%. Oyster use continues to show strong growth and is expected to account for 15% off all bus trips by December this year. TfL has been promoting Oyster proactively throughout the year, including special publicity campaigns on those routes where cash use is higher than average. TfL is now actively exploring a range of options including special promotions along the lines suggested by your question, as well as further targeted publicity and information campaigns.
