Answer for Light Controlled Pedestrian Crossing

Answered By:
Peter Hendy (Commissioner, Transport for London)

a) TfL's London Road Safety Unit recently carried out a study of the Lewisham High Street Courthill Road junction. The report recommended investigating the possibility of bringing the pedestrian crossing at the junction with Courthill Road under signal control. The report's recommendations are being considered further.

b) Based on casualty history, there are currently no road safety initiatives to introduce a light controlled pedestrian crossing at the Catford Road/Canadian Avenue junction. However, if the routine monitoring of the network highlights any significant increases in casualties at the junction, TfL's London Road Safety Unit will review the situation.
