Question

My constituent Jane Grant has raised with me the issue of audio-visual advertising on buses. She finds these very irritating - much like music played out loud on buses. How many routes carry audio-visual advertising? Do TfL plan to reduce or remove the use of these in the future?

Around 350 buses have advertising screens fitted as part of a media trial, although none feature audio announcements. TfL currently has no plans to expand these advertising screens across the network, nor to remove them from the buses on which they are already installed.

The screens can be used to display live CCTV footage on the bus as an additional security feature.
