In response to your report TfL will undertake a number of actions: · Further road safety campaigns ' such as Don't Die Before You've Lived ' to encourage children to take care when crossing the road. · Placing an advertisement in the BAME press, to encourage parents and school governors to become engaged in promoting road safety. · Through the Borough Spending Plan, giving priority to initiatives which target the problem highlighted in your report to the Mayor, taking account of the local needs in each borough without losing the benefits of good road safety initiatives across London. · Putting into action recommendations from TfL's report into the link between ethnicity and road safety, such as involving boroughs in sharing best practice, as your report also recommends. This will also involve the development of local specific interventions to deal with underlying road safety problems. · Undertaking further work to determine how we can encourage boroughs to provide more school crossing patrols.
