Peter Hendy (Commissioner, Transport for London)

There are six single-deck hybrid buses currently serving Route 360. The first double-deck hybrid bus enters service on Route 141 this month (December).

This will be followed by further batches from a number of manufacturers which will pave the way for rapid introduction of a significant quantity of hybrids over the next few years.

It is too early to confirm on which route future batches of vehicles will be deployed, although we aim to ensure that a range of operators across London get operational experience of this technology.
