Answer

Answer for Foreign Embassies

Answer for Foreign Embassies

Answered By:
Peter Hendy (Commissioner, Transport for London)

When TfL consulted on proposals for the western extension of the central London Congestion Charging zone in 2005, all 84 embassies and diplomatic missions based within the proposed charging area were sent consultation materials describing the proposals and the potential impacts of the scheme.

Responses to the consultation were reported to the Mayor before he made his decision to proceed with the implementation of the extension.

Embassy vehicles are subject to the Congestion Charge and TfL is assisting embassies in preparing for the extension.
