Answer for Buses to Ashford Hospital

Answered By:
Peter Hendy (Commissioner, Transport for London)

Ashford Hospital is already served by routes 116, 203, 216, so the links to Hounslow and Bedfont in particular are already in place. As with the rest of the TfL network, passengers on these routes are benefiting from the service improvements, record reliability and modern accessible buses which have been put in place since 2000.

The Hospital is outside Greater London and is also served by a variety of routes operating under contract to Surrey County Council.

TfL has recently considered the case for an additional route to serve the hospital to give the direct link from Feltham. However we were unable to justify the case for a new service, nor breaking existing direct cross-boundary links that we already provide (such as western Ashford to Feltham).

However, we are in discussion with Surrey County Council, to see whether there are any opportunities arising within the set of routes they provide. If these discussions are successful, we and Surrey would inform stakeholders in the usual way.
